Get involved

Show up for a child in Kathmandu.

There are three ways to stand with the students of the Asha School and communities like theirs: give, volunteer, or partner with us. All three change what’s possible.

Volunteer

Give time and talent

Not every gift is money. Reddy2Help needs people who can lend skills from anywhere in the world.

  • Fundraising and community outreach
  • Social media and storytelling
  • Design, photography, and translation
  • On-the-ground work in Kathmandu — reach out to get involved

Come with us · Every December

A week in Kathmandu, for under $1,000.

Once a year, in December, a small group goes out to the school. We keep the whole trip under a thousand dollars a person, because a volunteer trip that costs five thousand selects for people who already have five thousand, and that is not the group we want in the room.

You do not need a skill we have named. Teachers, students between jobs, retired engineers, people who have never left the country before: the work in a week is teaching sessions, helping with the computer room, and being another adult who showed up.

Places are limited by what the school can host, so we take names well ahead of December.

Ask about the trip

What it looks like

What your support actually does.

Not a category on a donation form. These are the sessions themselves, run in the school’s computer room on the trip in August.

An AI assistant conversation projected on a pull-down screen in the school computer room, showing a question about building a website for the Asha school in Kathmandu.

A real question, answered in front of them

The screen in this photograph is a live session. The question came from the room: how would you build a website for a nonprofit working in Nepal. Students watched it get answered, then took the keyboard and changed the question.

That is the whole lesson. Forty minutes of watching a thing they assumed was locked behind money and a degree answer them directly.

Girls and young women get the seats first

In the communities we work in, girls are the ones most likely to be pulled out of school early and told the technical path belongs to someone else. They also tend to be the ones already carrying responsibility for a family.

Put a capable tool in those hands and it goes further than it would anywhere else. When there are six seats in a room, who fills them is a decision.

Partner

For companies and organizations

Corporate matching, sponsorships, and in-kind support multiply what we can do for the Asha School. If your organization wants to make a focused, visible impact, let’s talk. You’d be in good company — Team Nebula already stands behind our technology and operations.

Sponsor a program

Fund a specific initiative at the Asha School and receive direct reporting on what your sponsorship achieved.

Matching gifts

Double your team’s giving with an employer match program. We’ll help you set it up.

In-kind support

Supplies, technology, and services are often as valuable as cash. Tell us what you can offer.

Questions

The things people ask us.

Including the awkward one about our charitable status, which we would rather you heard from us.

Can I donate right now?

Not through this site yet. Our 501(c)(3) application is pending and online giving switches on the day it clears.

If you want to give before then, get in touch or book a call and we will arrange it directly. Ask to be told the moment giving opens and you will be.

Is Reddy2Help a registered charity?

Not yet. We do not hold 501(c)(3) status, and we will not describe ourselves as a registered US charity until we do. Our application is with the IRS.

In practice that means a gift made today is not tax-deductible. We would rather tell you that plainly than take money under a claim we cannot back.

Where does the money actually go?

To the Asha Vidhyashram School in Kathmandu: teachers, meals, uniforms, books, and the health care that keeps children well enough to be in class. The school is run by HOPE worldwide Nepal, who decide what it needs. We fund; they run it.

How much of my gift reaches the school?

Nearly all of it, because the running costs of the foundation are donated rather than paid for. Team Nebula covers the hosting, the domain and the email behind this site as an in-kind donation, and the people involved are not drawing salaries from it.

We will publish a proper accounting once there is a year of giving to account for. Until then we would rather show you the arrangement than quote a percentage we have not audited.

Why only one school?

Because supporting one school well beats supporting ten badly. Asha is where we prove the model, and the model is that local people who already run something good get the resources to go further. We will take it to more partners across South and Southeast Asia once it holds.

Can I help if I am not in Nepal?

Most of our volunteers are. Fundraising, storytelling, design, photography and translation all happen from anywhere, and remote volunteering involves no contact with students. Volunteering is the place to start.

However you show up, it counts.

Every donor, volunteer, and partner becomes part of a student’s story at the Asha School.
